We are seeking a passionate person to fill the position of Controller at our headquarters in Londonderry New Hampshire (please note: we are relocating to Bedford, NH early 2023). A bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or other related discipline, with 10 years of accounting experience, is required.

As Controller at Wire Belt, you will…

The Controller will manage the accounting department, will be instrumental in forming accounting strategies and providing financial information to assist management and other users in making educated economic decisions.  The Controller coordinates the annual audit, develops the annual budget and is an important part of business planning. You will be on the management team and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

As a leader at Wire Belt, you will help set the tone for others within the organization and have a strong influence on culture. Administrative organization, dependability, and considerate communication are expected at levels consistent with a top leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the activities of the accounting department to insure the accurate, timely and consistent dissemination of Financial Statements, management information and financial/operational reports.
  • Custodial Accounting: Responsible for establishing and maintaining policies and procedures.
  • Maintains and controls the company’s General Ledger, customer accounts, vendor accounts, tax and regulatory records as required by Company Management, external auditors, and governmental authorities.
  • Oversee the activities of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
  • Managerial Accounting: Utilize and support our Management Process of setting expectations, measuring performance, and acting in Lean terms: Plan, Do, Check and Act
  • Cost accounting duties include: Establish Labor and Burden Rates for Shop Resources. Coordinate, analyze and maintain control of product costs, inventory valuations and manufacturing performance versus standards. Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all procedures, processes, and data.
  • Acts as the Financial Group’s representative/interface on Cross Functional Teams IT, ERP and consults on technical subsystems under consideration and/or used by the company.
  • Maintains the company’s routine relationships with Banks, Consultants, and Insurance Representatives.
  • Stays current with payroll related systems and regulations and acts as backup for this function.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

What We’re Looking For:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration or other related discipline from four-year College or university and ten years of related experience.

  • Read, analyze, and interpret the auditor’s Management Letter, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Communicate effectively to common inquiries or complaints from customers or business members of the community.
  • Apply advanced mathematical concepts such as statistical/quantitative analysis.
  • Apply mathematical operations to complete business tasks.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Understand: Financial Management, Technical Capacity, Performance Management, Ethical Conduct, Communication Proficiency and Personal Effectiveness/Credibility.
